I’ve been struggling with my weight through my entire adult life, mainly due to my love of food. I’ve tried various diet plans, but my biggest problem is my sweet tooth. So recently, I joined weight watchers.
I will be the first to put my hand up and say that I have not been following it 100%. I have good days and bad days. However, the best news for someone like me is that I have either maintained a weight, or lost it. I haven’t put any more weight on.
Originally this blog was started as a way to track my eating and workouts while I was doing the F45 Challenge, but the blog has evolved from that now – as a way to share what I cook at home from magazine clippings found in Mum’s old folders, recipes from cookbooks that I own, and recipes from Pinterest.
The point of this blog is to get myself back into the kitchen properly, eating better and reducing my environmental impact. Cutting back on getting food delivery, reducing my spending, and generally getting proper meals in.
I have a tendency to not eat properly on some days, and snack on unhealthy foods when I’m tired. It’s an awful habit, but I can be extremely lazy on some days and just pick at whatever I can find. Sometimes that cheese, crackers and hummus. Other times that just some chocolate.
So, it’s time to get back into the kitchen properly. Not every recipe will be healthy, not every recipe will be adapted to my taste – especially if the recipe works amazingly without the need to change it.
Take this blog with a pinch of salt, feel free to comment on any suggestions you may have about a recipe, or anything you might want me to try and cook! I hope you enjoy this little slice of my life.
